"Civil War Battlefield Barns of Gettysburg "
A new series of original paintings by Ron Lesser
Standing alone on the fields of battle . . . Battlefield Barns are stark reminders of events now committed only to history and memory. One in three were destroyed during the battles or so badly damaged they were torn down. Those that survived and were rebuilt, often bear little resemblance to the structure that stood against the cannon shot and mini balls. Today little can be found amidst the 145+ years of agrarian activity that would give an observer clues to the savagery and bloodshed. Nonetheless, each Battlefield Barn stands as a historic witness to what happened there.
